A varied walk to the isolated Stone Circle and Burial place of Bryn Cader Faner, a Prehistoric wonder of Wales and one of the most beautiful Bronze Age sites in Britain, Bryn Cader Faner is known as the “Welsh Crown of Thorns”
Bryn Cader Faner is a Circle Cairn located in a dramatic setting; its design is simple but effective and is arguably the most beautiful Bronze Age monument in Britain. The small Cairn, 8m wide and 1m high but surrounded by a circle of 15 thin slabs that lean outwards enhancing its size like a crown of thorns or rays of the sun make it a thing of wonder. It appears that Bryn Cader Faner was in fact a burial site rather than a place of ceremonial ritual.
