Walk 3 – Barmouth to The George III and on to Dolgellau

Walking across Barmouth Bridge this walk will include Arthog Waterfalls, Cregennen Lake, Kings Youth Hostel and Craig Y Castell, a bruised and battered hill fort on the slopes of Cader Idris. Here you will have fantastic views of the Mawddach Estuary and the low hills that you have just walked. Travelling down onto the banks of the estuary at Penmaenpool where lies The George III Hotel, an historic building, which was constructed in 1650 to serve Dolgellau’s flourishing boat building industry, and also the RSPB Reserve before finishing along the old railway track in Dolgellau.
