A varied walk to the isolated stone circle and burial place of Bryn Cader Faner, a prehistoric wonder of Wales and one of the most beautiful Bronze Age sites in Britain, Bryn Cader Faner is known as the “Welsh Crown of Thorns”
Bryn Cader Faner is a circle cairn located in a dramatic setting; its design is simple but effective and is arguably the most beautiful Bronze Age monument in Britain. The small cairn, 8m wide and 1m high but surrounded by a circle of 15 thin slabs that lean outwards enhancing its size like a crown of thorns or rays of the sun make it a thing of wonder. it appears that Bryn Cader Faner was, in fact, a burial site rather than a place of ceremonial ritual.
